Reproductive Rights are on the Ballot
Election day is quickly approaching. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade this past June, we must show up to the polls to elect pro-choice, pro-women candidates who will protect our right to choose. Join NWPC OC on Wednesday, October 12th to hear pro-choice candidates Diedre Thu- Ha Nguyen and Rebecca "Beckie" Gomez discuss the importance of voting in this election.
Diedre Thu-Ha Nguyen is running for California State Assembly for the 70th Assembly District. Diedre is a lifelong community activist and voice for diverse communities. Diedre has a long pro-democracy and pro-human rights record, and hopes to bring a positive change to the district.
Rebecca "Beckie" Gomez is running to be the next Mayor of Tustin. Council Member Rebecca “Beckie” Gomez was elected to the City Council in 2020 after a two-year break from her previous service on the Council from 2010-2018. About the Rally
Roe v. Wade, and the right to legal abortion, is on the verge of being overturned.
The U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) is expected to release its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization within the next couple of months, which could strip back the rights provided by Roe v. Wade, and turn back the clock on 50 years of progress in reproductive freedom.
However, many states are not waiting for the SCOTUS decision to pass bans with immediate effective dates. In just the first three months of 2022, over 500 anti-abortion restrictions were introduced in 41 states, meaning access to abortion is already being stripped away from millions of people seeking care.
The threat to abortion access is real and NOW is the time to mobilize with supporters like YOU from across the country to demonstrate that the vast majority of Americans support abortion access and will rise up to defend it!
REGISTER TODAY to join the Planned Parenthood national day of action at the Bans Off Abortion Rally on Saturday, May 14th, at 10:00 AM in Santa Ana, CA. Can we count you in?

Abortion Rights and Religion
As we honor this Women's History Month, we celebrate the 49 years of reproductive freedom for women since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973. However, the right of bodily autonomy for women has not been immune to contention and dispute, often due to our country's confluence of church and state, jeopardizing the freedom of women across the country.
Former attorney for Planned Parenthood, Ms. Laser is known for advocating for abortion, LGBTQ issues, and fighting against racial discrimination.
