Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson

Our first woman to honor this month is Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. In 2021, she was appointed to the US Court of Appeals in the DC Circuit. On February 25, 2022 she was nominated by President Biden to fill the vacancy that will be left when Justice Stephen Bryer steps down from the Court. If confirmed, Jackson will be the first black woman to sit on the Court. She would also be the first public defender on the Court.

Shoutout to Shelley Henderson and Karriann Farrell Hinds who spoke at our most recent event “Supreme Court Herstory” where we discussed Biden’s Supreme Court nomination. At the end of the conversation, Shelley proclaimed that Jackson would get the nomination. And she was right! We are excited and hopeful to see the first black female Supreme Court Justice very soon.

This month we’ll be highlighting some of our favorite women throughout history. Who would you like us to talk about?

As part of celebrating Women's History Month, we are trying to be sure that we can support our endorsed candidates the best we can. You can help us do this and get more women elected by becoming a member and making a contribution to our PAC. Your money helps us financially support our candidates' campaign and ensures we see more progressive, pro-choice women in office.
